The Weddings

The Thugz bravely played for two wedding events last weekend. Contrasts between them on all levels were stunning. Wedding event #1 was for a young couple from San Francisco with family ties to the Sea Ranch. When the bride introduced herself, she looked stylish, radiant, and so energetic. I knew right away we had a solemn duty to rock out and help make her party very special. Many phones took pictures, and the champagne flowed. We played background music most of the evening, but I know we contributed something to the party's success. I'm sure the big event the next day was a huge success since both the bride and groom were ready to take the world by storm!  Then the next afternoon, we headed for a Marin destination wedding in a fancy creamery/dairy facility, quite near to Ramblin' Jack Elliot's home base. This crowd was totally mixed with folks from many different groups and backgrounds. The best part was the wedding couple, fun loving, smiling and Dead Heads. We played well, the folks danced, and the happy couple had a memorable time. Go Thugz. So this Thursday, we'll be returning to the Blue for our monthly whoop-tee-doo. It will be so nice to see old friends and just let the music flow. Take care. love, Sylvia
