Back at Northwood

Mike is the keeper of Thugz historical data. Last night he mentioned we have been playing Thursday night gigs in the river area for 8 years. Time gets away from me, so I was amazed. No wonder so many of our fans are long-time, dear friends - from the Blue to the Pink to the golf course with lots of side trips. Last night, we returned to Northwood after a two week winter break, and the fans were there to support us. It was an interesting night with plenty of talk about whether or not the Northwood venue would stay alive. Some even said there was a special "vortex of good energy" in our Northwood space! The Thugz just want to play music and do our part to keep the river community vital. Drew gave another one of his pep talks at the end of the night, telling everybody that he is determined to make the river a "destination music scene." Who can resist his charm and enthusiasm? Change is in the air as the new year begins, but it all looks pretty exciting and positive. The Thugz will work hard to keep our Thursday nights going, with a commitment to putting on top-of-the-line performances. Thanks to our solid home base, we have the confidence and backing to share our music out there in an ever-expanding area. It's always challenging to go beyond our comfort zone, but it's also great to know we can return to Monte Rio like musical homing pigeons. Take care. Love, Sylvia
