Finally Liberated

After years of living with the old tabus, the social prejudice, the generational constraints, etc., I think I'm finally free from feeling weird or apologetic about answering that question: "Oh, how nice, you're a musician - so what's the name of your band??" As soon as I say "The Thugz" - I often get that look. Nowadays, I tell folks that we have a wonderful support group - long-time fans and tribal members who have organized themselves in order to create events for all of us. "Oh, how nice, you have a support group, so what do you call it?" When I proudly answer "TITS" - I definitely get the look - and I'm happy to say I smile with delight. None of us planned any of this - certainly not to be rebellious or a bunch of smart asses - it just happened, and it keeps us edgy, on our toes and happy! Our Thugz Family Picnic was a huge success yesterday. Our guiding light, Timothy Osmer, pulled everyone together to participate, and it all went very smoothly. There had been several TITS meetings along the way, and it was hard to get a bunch of enthusiastic music lovers organized, but Timothy stuck with it, and, VOILA, it happened. Thank you to everyone - it was a glorious afternoon and evening at the Hollydale Club. We had friends come from afar to join us - Mark Basquette drove up from L.A. and shared his fantastic musical talents. Our old "boss," Tim Parker, zoomed in after work in Santa Rosa to BBQ his legendary garden burgers for everyone. Local Thugz/TITS folks were out there helping too - Kay patrolled the streets of Guerneville getting folks to come after the Stumptown Day Parade. What a great bunch - what a show - all I can say over and over is how grateful I am for the whole scene - even our newest fan, Maris and Drew's beautiful baby girl. Just for clarity and a tribute to my new-found freedom, I'll let you have the whole scoop:

THUGZ = Tribal Hippie Under Ground Zone

TITS = Timely Incredible Thugz SupportĀ

I'm so happy and grateful and inspired. Take care. I send love to you all, Sylvia
