My blog about our Winnarainbow adventure was brief, and I didn't have the chance to acknowledge Chris's absence. He flew to the east coast to be with family and missed our Thursday at the theater as well as the camping trip. Luckily Mike got his former student and bass player "extraordinaire", John-Paul, to sit in. It was a great reunion for Mike, Ian and John-Paul - back to their jazz combo days. John-Paul and his wife, Margo, are like family since Mike knew them both back in their high school band days. It was comfortable and exciting to have them join us. Of course, it will be fantastic to have Chris back. The "I.G.C.L.F.C." members should be more than excited (that's the "Intergalactic Chris Lushington Fan Club"). I continue to be awe struck by the huge musical influence Mike has shared with so many young folks. John-Paul is one of his stars - destined for a full, exciting musical life. Very cool. Take care.
