Party People

Windsor's finest party people got together last Saturday, and the Thugz were there to help them celebrate a "Grateful I'm Not Dead Yet" birthday. There was a "Steal Your Face" cake displayed as we entered, and Grateful Dead music was tuned in on the Dish network. We set up in the back garden, all re-done for a big party. A slanted wooden structure caught our eyes. The host explained it would hold an ice block with carved channels to create a "booze luge" - shots are poured into a crevice while the happy recipient waits down below for a cold hit of a favorite beverage. Also, there was a great family kitty who decided to adopt the Thugz, playing around our equipment as we set up. Once we started to play, we all had a blast. The Party People were so receptive and determined to have fun, that positive energy flowed our way like crazy. Our host sang a fantastic version of "Sugaree" with us - then decided to do "Iko Iko." Dancers danced, the luge kept flowing, and laughter filled the air - and then, we got the word: STOP! A disgruntled neighbor threatened to do a citizen's arrest and called the law. We did a very, very fast "Ripple," and that was it. As we packed up, Chris and I were both feeling so happy about the band - we sounded great, and it was so much fun to play together. Once again, I'm totally grateful for my chance to be a Thug!

Take care. Love, Sylvia
