Trio night at the Blue Heron is a happenin' thing - 3rd Thursday of the month. Mike, Chris and I showed up - the Thugz Trio, AKA the Thugz Elders! I always feel a sense of "deja vu" as I set up in the corner. That was my special spot many years ago, in a different format, and now I find myself back again - older, wiser, and a lot more musically savvy - thanks to Mike's mentoring. We had a great time just playing music together again. The crowd was so welcoming and festive. Stephanie joined us for a song wearing her flashy "O Tannenbaum" hat. My ex-student, neighbor, and blossoming musician, Brayan Ruiz Romero sat in for a song too. His musical future looks really bright! Rain came down, the Blue's windows steamed up, folks drank a lot of Christmas cheer, and a fabulous time was had by all. It feels so good to know our Thugz scene can bring smiles to so many faces - even after our long hiatus out of the public eye. On Saturday we'll feature some seasonal tunes and have a blast checking out all the Psychedelic Santa contestants at the Roadhouse. Our Thugz holiday show is really my Christmas, my time to soak up the love. Thank you to all of you. See you Saturday. HO-HO-HO!!
