T/BG Day Seven/Loomis

How bittersweet it is...the famous Thugz, Boris Garcia tour is over. Yesterday was the last hoorah at the Country Club Saloon in Loomis. An outdoor "amphitheater" had been constructed behind the saloon for spring and summer events. The spot was loaded with Moonalice gear, and we tiptoed through all the cables with our equipment. Lauren Murphy started the show with a solo performance, ending with a touching tribute to her husband and partner who passed recently. We played all original tunesĀ  as the crowd filtered in for the evening. I must say we were well received, and it felt great knowing the valley people were receptive to the Thugz vibe. We had to exit quickly since Achilles Wheel was raring to go after us. They were followed by Boris Garcia and, finally, Moonalice. Achilles Wheel was rockin' away with a double drummer set-up, and the crowd got into a dancing frenzy on the lawn. By that time, I knew I had to hit the road, so I missed Boris Garcia's final set. However, there's no doubt they were fantastic. I did get to see an occasional human step out of the huge Moonalice bus in the parking lot as I got organized to go. I'm sure it was Pete Sears - oh boy. Moonalice always plays well, and the stage was adorned by their huge digital screen - so I know their show was a hit. Stephanie rode home with me, and she really, really wanted to find an "In and Out Burger" place ASAP. She was ordering her goodies in Petaluma just about the same time that Moonalice was rockin' in Loomis. The tour involved a lot of driving and challenges. We were so happy to have deepened our Boris Garcia ties, and we had some fabulous musical moments along the way. Several brave Thugz fans showed up at some venues, so we always felt at home. I loved having the chance to play a lot. What could be better than playing music, expanding horizons, and spending time with great friends. I feel awfully lucky. Now we can get ready for our Memorial Day weekend show at the Monte Rio amphitheater and the annual Dylan show at the Roadhouse. Mark your calendars! Take care. Love, Sylvia
