It's been more than a month since my last blog. The infamous "daily grind" got to me, but I'm fully recovered, and I hope to get back into the groove. Last night Andre confessed to me that he regularly read the blog - then Chris chimed in with a "me too." I was instantly inspired knowing that there were readers out there. So here goes.
Last night we played an outdoor set at the Twin Oaks in Cotati/Penngrove. Another band was scheduled to follow us and play inside. They were an enthusiastic bunch and began playing while we were playing. It was a bit odd - bi-polar - hippies outside and Twin Oaks regulars inside. But we were so happy to see lots of familiar faces dancing and enjoying themselves that we had to forgive the other band's bad manners since they were raising money for Valley Fire victims. All in all, it was a fun evening for us, and it felt great to be playing again. One lady made a point of checking in with Mike and me saying she was from Colorado and had been following the band for years. That was a good boost. The next time we play for a public event will be Thursday night, October 1st in Sebastopol - at the former Aubergine's. Our wonderful Drew will be there too, and we'll be doing lots of exciting original tunes in addition to our usual repertoire. Many, many thanks to all our fantastic fans who track us down and show up for gigs all over the place. The tribe is alive and well. Take care. Love, Sylvia
