Thugz In Motion

Mike, our Fearless Leader, is in the process of moving his household. Ian, our drummer, is in the process of expanding his household with a new, yet unnamed, baby boy. Chris and I are stable right now, relatively speaking. But all these adjustments affect our musical evenings. We have worked with great drummer subs lately, and last night was a doozey! James Foster of Free Peoples fame worked/played with us and pushed us along with driving rhythms. Mike was pooped out from moving boxes all day, so he let go of his usual concerns, and things just took off. At the end of the night, James said, "We went places, didn't we?" Oh yes, we did. Jamming was on the menu big time. Maybe the full moon was a factor too, but the energy level was intense. Mike has a battery pack that allows him to go cordless, and I love it when he comes to "our side" of the stage and cuts loose. Chris and I can watch his hands and pick up signals as Mike changes keys or develops some special riff. It is fun, fun, fun! Next week, Mike should be in his new house, and we might get James to return. We'll see what kind of crazy creations come out of it. Of course, I must say that Drew's light show adds an organic, swirling visual to the music. It all worked well last night, and, most importantly, the fans and new fans were in constant motion with big smiles plastered on their faces. I like that. Take care. Love, Sylvia
