Thugz Synergism at 755

I believe a "synergism" is some sort of combined action or effect where the "sum is greater than the parts." It's something I experience every time the Thugz get together. So while good old Deepak Chopra was talking about synergies on public TV to raise money Friday night, the Thugz were making it happen for real in downtown Sebastopol. It amazes me to feel the energy and support from our wonderful faithful friends - "positive energy" is so elusive, but there's no doubt it was driving us along last night. When we all get together, the experience is totally synergistic - every time. We weren't sure what to expect at 755 Main (formerly Aubergine's), but we did know that our own Drew worked there and would escort us in. The stage was big and fabulous; the sound system rocked; Drew was very, very helpful - a dream gig. All we needed was fans. We got them - and much more. David came with beautiful flowers - Craig came with smiles and compliments - Maris was there (with her baby-in-waiting) at the door - all the Thugz VIPS and new folks as well. We launched into our music with enthusiasm - playing Dead tunes and many originals. Our jams felt great, and it was possible to actually hear what everybody was contributing to the mix - luxury, thanks to Drew's expertise. Mike wanted to do a Jefferson Airplane song, "Coming Back To Me," in the 2nd set. The audience was spellbound, and Mike poured his heart into it. I even saw the bartender clap with gusto. So we went the gamut last night - from rockin' "chaos" to a beautiful love song. At one point, Andre united us all as we did the Star Trek salute in tribute to Leonard Nimoy (Spock), who left us for interstellar space yesterday.  Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to our "synergism." As always, I'm so grateful. Take care. Love, Sylvia
