Warm Roadhouse Night

Last evening at the Roadhouse was "warm" in every possible way - the air was balmy, and our personal barometers were really high. It always feels great to get the whole band together and "go for it." Ian has returned from Hawaii, so he was with us again, playing and singing like a champ. "Can't Find My Way Home" was always one of Ian's best tunes, and he did a spectacular job last night. I think we all played well, and we had a chance to play some tunes that have been put aside for a while. Drew worked his magic with the sound system, so we all could hear ourselves and each other quite well. Amazingly, Drew was totally focused and relaxed, even though Maris was dancing around, hugely pregnant, with a late March due date. Both Drew and Maris are radiant, waiting for the little Thugette. Actually, we're all waiting with over-the-top excitement. Once again, Mike offered some very thrilling trumpet solos, and his guitar work was fantastic - especially on "Eyes of the World." Andre's solos were great - very fluid and melodic. It was so much fun to do "Peace of Mind" once again with Ian singing his tune and Andre's guitar jamming on the final section. Chris did a powerful bass solo on "Last Man Standing" in addition to holding down the bottom end all night. I was so proud of everybody, and I think the fans had a bang-up "Pi Day/Einstein Birthday" celebration too. Of course, we will all miss our wonderful friend, Bradley Leach. He's a fabulous drummer and great guy, and we thank him for all the hard work and dedication he offered the Thugz.  For now it's upward and onward - with St. Patrick's Day coming along on Tuesday. Watch out for Thug Leprechauns! Take care. Love, Sylvia
