We're all winners!

What a night! The little Blue Heron bar was explosive last night when I arrived for our Thugz Trio gig around 6pm. By that time, the patrons had had a few libations, and the Giants were into their 4th inning in the playoff game. Orange and black were the favorite colors. and cowbells were the preferred sound effects. I didn't bother to bring equipment into the bar - it would have been impossible. Then Chris arrived. We stared at the game for a while, and there were some "downer" moments. Then Mike arrived as the 9th inning approached. Then it happened - the big home run, the big win, and the big promise that "hope is alive and magic is afoot." We got our stuff on stage just in time to keep the exhilaration going with a great rendition of "...goin' to Kansas City - Kansas City here I come..." The fun just kept on going. We played well, and the fans were jubilant. One fellow offered to let Mike play his famous "purple toilet seat guitar" - yes, that's correct. Mike tuned it up, and we managed to play "Bertha." It was a "Deal" guitar - some well-known guitar maker from Marin - definitely one-of-a-kind! Drew even stepped forward in the chaos to do a great "Wang Dang Doodle" while the bar rocked. What a night. I forgot all the icky news of the world and all my icky personal concerns for a few hours. We were all winners last night - it's a great thing to celebrate together. Go Giants. Take care. Love, Sylvia
